Safety First

Beware of unisured, uninspected, pirate operators. Parasail operators are now under the restrictions of the FAA and most do not have autorization from the FAA or comply with their guidelines. Ask questions, safety first. 500’ is the maximun height in the US mandatory by the FAA.
It is not worth risking your safety and breaking the law for a  few $$$. Do your research before you put your self and or families life at someone elses hands?

  • City Hall
  • Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
  • FAA

PARASAILING

Aloha Watersports is a member in good standing of PAPO, or Professional Association of Parasail Operators, an organization that requires observance of a specific set of safety guidelines, operating procedures and insurance requirements. PAPO is a self-regulating organization similar in structure to PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) which sets standards for the scuba diving industry. We carry the required AAA insurance rather than the B minus insurance carried by most non-members and follow PAPO's regulations to the letter. But because of our desire to provide A-plus quality and safety, our boat is a US Coast Guard inspected vessel. In fact, it is the only USCG inspected, 14 passenger parasail vessel in South Florida.

The vessel must carry safety equipment such as an Emergency Position Indication Radio Beacon (EPIRB), a strobe light, an 18" life ring, a fire detection/suppression system, UL approved electronic devices, high railings, high water alarms and a fuel shutoff system.

The vessel must be built to specific USCG specifications and is assigned a stability letter. This is arrived at by a Coast Guard test that measures the buoyancy and load distributions that the particular vessel exhibits and is used to determine how many passengers the vessel can carry.

Common to both inspected and uninspected vessels are requirements that the captain and crew are required to take a pre-employment drug test and remain on a random drug consortium for the duration of their employment as well as a requirement that the captain and crew have a valid first aid and CPR certificate.
Our boat is also equipped with satellite radar which allows us to closely monitor weather patterns and conditions. Weather radar is also monitored at the main beach facility.

WAVE RUNNERS

Aloha Watersports features a fleet of state of the art 4-stroke Yamaha waverunners that undergo regular inspection and maintenance. In order to insure the comfort and safety of all our guests:
  1. Riders must be pre-qualified and present valid photo identification to verify their age, if appropriate.
  2. Hands on instruction is provided prior to rental.
  3. Coast Guard approved training and testing is required for anyone born after Jan 1, 1988.
  4. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy on drugs and alcohol for all riders.

Even though "The ocean is our playground" we take our responsibility to our guests very seriously. Our activities are fun and exciting but require constant oversight to keep them that way. When what we do looks easy to our customers we're doing our job correctly but what goes on behind the scenes is what allows us to present a smooth, seamless operation.

By maintaining the high standards we have for years we have been able to insulate ourselves and our business affiliates from undesirable situations.
